My name is Daniel Armengol Altayó, and I am here to participate in the conception and creation of alternatives to the current digital paradigm. My hypothesis is that by having more clarity on how digital information operates and how we relate to it, we can coordinate efforts more effectively towards common goals.

This website is an experiment. Right now you can explore my artistic practice, and my plan is to share my research notes as well, understanding both as complementary to each other.

2008 → 2013

My story begins a few years after flirting with the studies of Multimedia Engineering and later, Electronic Art and Digital Design. I start an interactive design studio with some friends and we focus on creating experiences, mainly in physical spaces, in the form of interactive installations. That period connect me to the wonders of human behavior.

2013 → 2018

We close the studio and I progressively leave commercial work behind. I continue to explore the role that technology plays in our lives and how we use it to relate to others, paying special attention to the gestures that emerge from the interactions with and through technology. During that time I learn about prototyping and digital fabrication, and integrate these new skills into my artistic practice.

2018

Technological devices and digital tools have a huge influence power on the development and consolidation of our behavior. That is the topic I decide to explore with my first performance. The experience shakes my worldview.
